Meniscal calcification bilaterally noted. Occurs due to deposition of Calcium crystals. CPPD (Calcium Pyrophosphate Deposition Disease) is a very common cause of Chondrocalcinosis. Trauma, Hypercalcaemia (as in Hyperparathyroidism), Haemachromatosis, Ochronosis, Wilson disease are other causes. Arthritides, Osteoarthritis and Gout may cause this condition.
